Who Can Join

Membership in the Juvenile Law Section is open to any attorney who is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is interested in juvenile law.  Any person not a member of the State Bar of Texas, who is interested in Juvenile Law, may be eligible to be a public member. A public member of the Section shall be entitled to all the same rights and privileges of membership as members of the state Bar of Texas, but public members shall not be eligible to vote, nor to hold any office requiring election by the Council or the Section.

Membership Dues

Annual dues of $25.00 shall be paid prior to July 1 of any year with the bar year running from June 1 - May 31.  

Privileges of Becoming a Member

The benefits of membership include:

  • Quarterly newsletters packed with relevant information for juvenile justice practitioners;
  • Special legislative edition of the Section's newsletter in odd-numbered years; and
  • Reduced seminar fees at the annual juvenile law conference and juvenile law specialization intensive review course. 

How to Join the Juvenile Law Section

To join the Section, please fill out the Membership Form (in adobe acrobat format) OR visit the State Bar's website, include a $25.00 check made payable to the SBOT Juvenile Law Section and mail to:
